COVID-19: Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance for Small Business
On April 24, 2020, the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA) for small businesses was announced by the federal government. CECRA will lower rent by 75% for small businesses affected by COVID-19 for the months of April, May, and June 2020.
The program will be administered by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). Further details of the program can be found on the CMHC website.
It is expected that the application process for CECRA will begin mid-May.
