Bernie Zacharias

As a partner and director of Avisar Chartered Accountants, Bernie brings a discerning sense for operational efficiency, and a client-focused attitude that achieves results. Bernie provides CFO services to multiple companies in various sectors, such as publicly listed junior resource companies and owner-managed businesses. By preparing financial forecasts and projections, as well as implementing tight accounting systems and internal controls, Bernie helps ensure that the companies he serves are in prime operating condition.

Bernie provides public companies with a range of services, from reverse merger accounting to consistent GAAP disclosure in financial statements, and regulatory compliance in Canada and the United States. Bernie works with his clients through all of the important aspects of IFRS, from assessment and transition to sustainment. He has assisted with streamlining and simplifying reporting procedures in several companies by acting as the project lead in the implementation of numerous "Practice Management" software applications. The combination of strategic vision and an attention to detail that Bernie provides is invaluable to both Avisar and its clients.

Bernie has served as CFO for various mining and exploration companies and currently serves as CFO for Mirasol Resources Ltd. and Paget Minerals Corporation. Outside of Avisar, Bernie enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, water-skiing in the summer and snow skiing in the winter, and volunteering his time and expertise to not-for-profit organizations.
